State officials say Dookhan tampered with drug evidence sent to the Hinton State Laboratory Institute in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood which led to throwing over 30,000 of criminal cases into question.

The NECN reports:

In a state police report that contained an interview with Dookhan that surfaced Wednesday, it was learned that she did not conduct proper tests on evidence that came through, and at times even adding drugs to some of the drug evidence sent to the lab. In the interview, she said she did so because she wanted to get the work done.

The chemist may face additional charges as prosecutors and defense attorneys go through thousands of criminal cases that could be upended by her actions.

Police believe that Dookhan’s action was diliberate and was not accidental work.
