The wife of the Connecticut man who shot his adopted teenage son after mistaking him as a house robber was the first person to call the police after the shooting.

Tyler Giuliano was outside the neighboring house in a ski-mask and  holding a knife outside of his aunt’s house when his father mistook him for an intruder.

According to the recorded 911 call that officials have released, the wife told the dispatcher that her husband went next door to check on a disturbance at his sister’s house.

After that, gun shots were heard, in which she dialed the police shortly after.

She told the dispatcher:

“I don’t know. My husband ran next door to his sister’s house to help her. Send Someone NOW.”

Another 911 call reveals the sister of the man, who told the dispatcher:

“Someone’s been shot. They were trying to break into my house and I called my brother next door. I don’t know if someone shot my brother or not. I don’t know what’s going on.”

She also told the dispatcher, crying:

“I’ve got to go outside. Please hurry, please hurry.”

According to the CT Post, the recordings show that about 5 or 6 calls came in to the dispatch center after “multiple” shots fired were heard.

The site reports:

Jeffrey Giuliano told detectives that he shot the masked intruder after the intruder lunged at him with a knife, investigators said. Only later, when paramedics arrived to take the body away, did he discover the victim was his son.

Police found Tyler Giuliano sprawled in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the head, according to one of the 911 recordings.

It’s easy to hear the emotion and panic that went on that night but it is still a mystery as to why Giuliano was dressed in the dark clothing and carrying a weapon.

Our prayers are with the family of the victim.
