As a DJ, I always get asked to put together playlists of songs I’m listening to at the moment or people always want to know new artists that I think are dope. It’s always tough to come up an answer because not everyone has the same taste. But today, I’ve got a kick-ass list of songs to start your night off to.

STORY: “The Rise Of EDM” By DJ MOS

Now don’t worry, I’ve got songs for the ladies and jams for the guys. So whether you’re in the car on your way to the club, or pre-gaming with some friends to start the night – you’re guaranteed to have a good night with these songs on rotation.

1. Michael Jackson – “Off The Wall”: It doesn’t get more perfect than this. We honestly could dedicate this entire list to The King of Pop, but in the interest of diversity I’ll fight the urge. The entire song is about leaving your worries behind and having a good time – “Tonight, gotta leave that 9 to 5 up on the shelf and just enjoy yourself.”  Now that’s a weekend mantra!

2. Meek Mill – “House Party”: When this drops in the club you can’t help but bounce.

3. Rihanna – “Where Have You Been”: This one’s for the ladies. Rihanna can do no wrong. This track has a lot of energy.

4. French Montana Feat. Rick Ross, Drake & Lil Wayne – “Pop That”: An instant classic!

5. Jay-Z – “Public Service Announcement”: This is one of those rare songs that always does the job. You have no choice but to get hype when you hear the intro come in.

6. Azealia Banks – “212”: This track blew up quickly this year, and it’s a still a great song to help you get ready for the party.

7. Bell Biv Devoe – “Poison:” Throwback! Simply classic!!

8. The Notorious B.I.G. – “Hypnotize:” I live in Brooklyn and couldn’t have a list without some B.I.G.

9. A Tribe Called Quest – “Award Tour:” You can’t go wrong with this one – Tribe is always necessary for a great night out.

10. 2 Chainz Feat. Drake – “No Lie:” 2 Chainz is on a serious run right now. The soundtrack to your night wouldn’t be complete without 2 Chainz song.
