An ABC reporter apparently rubbed Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan the wrong way when he asked him a question concerning gun laws and taxes, which triggered Ryan to abruptly walk out of the interview.

STORY: Go Register! Today Is The Last Day To Register To Vote In These States…

The gun-touting congressman was in the middle of an interview with ABC 12 in Flint, Michigan, when the reporter asked him, “Does this country have a gun problem?”

Ryan responded that more gun laws aren’t needed and that the ones already in place need to be enforced:

“We have lots of laws that aren’t being properly enforced. We need to make sure we enforce these laws. But the best thing to help prevent violent crime in the inner cities is to bring opportunity in the inner cities, is to help people get out of poverty in the inner cities, is to help teach people good discipline, good character. That is civil society. That’s what charities, and civic groups, and churches do to help one another make sure that they can realize the value in one another.”

The ABC reporter responded with a question correlating gun violence and taxes, asking, “And you can do all that by cutting taxes? By…with a big tax cut?”

That’s when Ryan retorted, “Those are your words, not mine,” and one of his staffers jumped in to abruptly end the interview, telling the reporter, “Thank you very much, Sir.”

Later on, Ryan’s campaign released a statement in regard to the interview:

“The reporter knew he was already well over the allotted time for the interview when he decided to ask a weird question relating gun violence to tax cuts. Ryan responded as anyone would in such a strange situation. When you do nearly 200 interviews in a couple months, eventually you’re going to see a local reporter embarrass himself.”

That’s a pretty crude way to end an interview when you don’t like a question. We would expect a little more class from Mr. Ryan…
