Oprah sat down with the mag for an exclusive spread featured in their November 2012 issue and boy, does O dish on some of her juiciest pastimes.
In the interview, the 58-year-old talk show queen talks the OWN Network, her obsession with “bathing experiences” and also reveals her not-so-guilty pleasure, the erotic trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey!
Here are some highlights from the interview:
On her decision to create OWN:
“When you have reached the peak of a mountaintop, which is where I was with the Oprah show, you have absolutely no worries…I’d been in the right space at the right time, and I’d done that in the best way possible for 25 years. But you have two choices: You can come down from the mountain and spend the rest of your days thinking it was so beautiful there, or you can create a vision, look upward, see the next mountain, and start the climb all over again.”
On her greatest indulgence:
Bathing is my hobby. I love creating bathing experiences—bath gels, bubbles, crystals, salts, lavender milks…Oh, yeah! I go prune. I go waaaay prune. I’ve gone to sleep.?
On her guilty pleasure:
“Oh, I’ve got all the Shades, for the time I can take some guilty pleasure and just read. But I’m thinking, Stop with the story, get to the juicy part!”
On what she’s hungry for:
“I’ve been thinking, What am I hungry for? Well, I’m hungry to awaken and open people’s hearts…”
