Trayvon Martin’s parents, Tracy and Sybrina Fulton, will not sit idly by during today’s hearing regarding their son’s school records. STORY: George Zimmerman Murder Case Trial Date Set!

Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin will be at the Seminole County Courthouse to attend the hearing on the release of Trayvon’s school records.

This move by George Zimmerman’s defense team to further victimize Trayvon has angered folks across the country and left the family reeling. It raises serious concerns for Tracy and Sybrina and they are motivated to speak publicly about their reaction to this request.

Both parents will also be making an announcement before the hearing regarding the newly created Change For Trayvon Movement and their plans to revise Stand Your Ground laws across the country. This will be the first time they speak publicly about their decision to create the Change For Trayvon Committee of Continuous Existence and start participating in the political process to achieve change in the name of their son.

Their hope that “Change for Trayvon” can be achieved requires the assistance, participation and mobilization of volunteers across the country. They are also seeking to raise funds that will enable them to actively support candidates, elected officials and causes that agree with their mission to revise these laws that originally allowed their son’s killer to walk free. Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin will comment on discussions they have had with Legislators across the country who have told them they never meant to pass a law that allows aggressors and agitators to shoot first and ask questions later. To create change in the name of their son and provide him a lasting legacy other than that of a victim, they have chosen to engage themselves and ask those around them to engage in change as well.

The theme of the Change for Trayvon Movement is best surmised by Tracy Martin: “Life is beautiful and together we can make a difference.”

The hearing is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
