Throughout this long ride, Obama has toured the country, held all star celeb fundraisers, conducted countless interviews and been plastered on the cover of a number of magazine covers. At times, the President was smooth sailing while he got to hang out with Hollywood royalty like Jay-Z and Beyonce, while on other days the President hit a few bumps in the road. However nothing could predict that his year and a half campaign would come to an abrupt halt because of a national crisis.

On October 28, the President suspended his campaign in order to return to Washington, DC to adhere to presidential duties after Hurricane Sandy ravaged the Northern East Coast. He was forced to take a few days off to assist in the relief effort and even made time to tour devastated parts of New Jersey.
