It’s no wonder Mitt Romney wanted to shut down PBS! After all, the latest bizarre scandal is happening on one of its longest running children’s programs- Sesame Street.
If you haven’t heard, Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, has been accused of having sex with an underage boy, although he contends that the sexual relationship happened after the accuser was already an adult.
What happened to the innocence of Sesame Street and those who control the puppet strings?
The voice of Elmo, one of the most wholesome characters on TV, is accused of having sex with an underage boy. How creepy is that if it turns out to be true?
Unfortunately, this is a case we know all too well. Those who run the innocent programs of our childhood live a seedy life that we aren’t supposed to find out about.
Anyone remember Pee Wee Herman?
Hopefully Clash’s name will be cleared. But when it comes celebs and the lives they lead behind the childish characters they play, things tend to get a little strange. Take a look…
Pee-wee’s Playhouse was a popular children’s TV series starring comedic performer Paul Reubens that ran from 1986-1990.
Off the hit if the show, Pee Wee garnered enormous fame from movies and merchandise.
It all came crashing down in July of 1991 when Reubens was arrested for indecent exposure in an adult theater in Sarasota, Florida. The arrest changed the general public’s view of Reubens and Pee-wee forever.
Reubens has since returned to his Pee-wee persona with stage shows and performances.
Fred Willard, who also worked for PBS was busted, like Reubens, for lewd conduct inside an adult movie theater in Hollywood, CA.
Willard starred in Disney-Pixar’s 2008 animated hit WALL·E. and hosted a PBS show Market Warriors from which he was dropped after the scandal.
Fernando Rivas, 59, a Cuban-born musician educated at New York’s Julliard School, was arrested last year after an investigation led police to his Charleston home.
Rivas was an Emmy and Grammy-award winning composer who wrote music for Sesame Street and was arraigned on charges of coercing a child “to engage in sexually explicit conduct” in South Carolina.
Police discovered photographs of a 4-year-old girl naked and “restrained in handcuffs and other bondage-type devices.”
What’s going on with these guys?
