Tricia Macke, a WXIX-TV Fox News affiliate anchor in Cincinnati, Ohio, has returned to work after a two-day suspension from her newscast after calling MSNBC host Rachel Maddow an “angry young man.”

Macke has since issued an apology for calling Maddow a man in a Facebook posting she wrote: “I am sorry. I should have said antagonistic…I knew what I was saying,” she said.

Macke is a star anchor for Cincinnati’s Fox 19 News and hosts the 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. nightly newscasts. She has been with the station since 1993.

According to Cincinnati News:

Macke returned to work today after her two-day suspension, as expected. WXIX-TV General Manager Bill Lanesey had said yesterday that he expected Macke “to be back on the anchor desk” today.

Neither Macke nor co-anchor Ben Swann mentioned her absence at the top of the 6:30 p.m. newscast.

Maddow is one of the smartest people on TV and to insult her like that is shameful.
