Even though the Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ last album, 2009’s It’s Blitz, was one of the most critically acclaimed alternative pop albums of the last 10 years, the band hasn’t dropped an LP since.

However, that might change in 2013. Jason Bentley, who hosts a morning radio show on KCRW, broke the news that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will drop an album this upcoming spring.
There’s already been speculation that the group is working on an album, after a video came out of James Murphy, from LCD Soundsystem fame, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ guitarist Nick Zinner collaborating in the studio.

Murphy spoke to the Huffington Post about the session, saying:
“I just did a little fun stuff,” Murphy told them. “Nothing really big; I don’t have time and they don’t have time. I think they’re done with their record now, I was just fussing around. I didn’t make their album. They’re just friends.”
We can’t wait to hear some new Yeah Yeah Yeahs stuff in 2013!
