For years, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade has been one of the festivities that people look forward to almost as much as the actual Thanksgiving feast. Every year, there are new balloons that get made to celebrate Turkey Day. This year, Japanese feline superstar Hello Kitty will join Papa Smurf and The Elf on The Shelf as new balloons. KAWS will finally get to see his signature “Companion” figure like never before in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The 40-foot-long balloon, made from urethane-coated nylon, joins the likes of Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Tom Otterness and Tim Burton as other notable living artists who have had their work in the parade.
