Welcome to a special Thanksgiving version of Dollars & Sense!

You have worked a long week up until now and you finally get a day off to not only relax, but to enjoy an amazing feast. Even though you may be staying in today with the family, we have put together a few great things that you can do if you plan on leaving the nest for a little play time. Check it out below!

Check Out The New Balloons At The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

This year will mark the 86th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Performers at the parade will include Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, Karmin, Don McLean and Jimmy Fallon and The Roots. Macy’s is about to introduce the newest balloons for its annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, and Hello Kitty, Papa Smurf, The Elf On The Shelf and a Brooklyn-based artist KAWS’ popular “Companion” character will also be making an appearance in balloon form. There will be 16 balloons in total in this year’s parade that will travel along 6th avenue in New York City. Also included in the bunch will be Charlie Brown, Underdog and SpongeBob Square Pants.

Visit Disney World

If you aren’t in the NYC area, Orlando Florida also puts on quite a show for Turkey Day. Thanksgiving is one of the top times of year to visit Disney World. You can bet on the parks being extremely crowded, but they’re beautifully decorated for the Holiday Season, and stay open late; also you can see special shows and parades.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Save The Leftovers

This is not new to most people but when you have such a big Thanksgiving feast, chances are there will be leftovers. That extra turkey can make leftover sandwiches, soup, and just about anything else that you can add turkey to in the upcoming week. Use cranberry sauce instead of mayonnaise on a turkey sandwich for a kick of flavor. We know you will eventually grow tired of the taste of turkey but the upside is that for one solid week you won’t have to buy any lunch!
