There’s nothing we love more than celebrities who give back!

Justine Simmons joined supermodel Heidi Albersten recently as the two volunteered their time at Su Casa, a residential treatment facility operated by the Lower Eastside Service Center (LESC). These two powerful women offer their unwavering support as goodwill ambassadors to the facility.

STORY: Justine Simmons Named Global Ambassador To LESC

Justine and Heidi visited Su Casa soon after Hurricane Sandy hit, as the storm had unprecedented and devastating effects on the clients and facilities of the LESC. Although both women lost power in their own homes, they were anxious to offer their help and support to the women and infants living in Su Casa’s Pregnant Women & Infants Program – this program benefits the unmet needs of pregnant women with opiate addiction.

The residents of the facility were both shocked and excited to get a visit from Justine and Heidi. In the words of one of the pregnant women living in the treatment center:

“I cannot believe I’m standing in the same room as Justine Simmons and Heidi Albertsen. They really care about us.”

Justine, Heidi, LESC Vice President Peter Santoro and other committed members of LESC serve endlessly and selflessly to aide those suffering from substance abuse in getting their lives back on track.

Donations to LESC for the benefit of the pregnant women and infants that live in its residential facilities and of families and children who participate in its camp and year-round kids program, are still desperately needed.
