Despite seeing her burned and mangled driver’s license, Mexican singer Jenni Rivera‘s family refuses to give up hope that their daughter will be found, according to the Daily Mail.

“In our eyes, we still have faith that our sister will be OK,” Rivera’s brother Juan told reporters outside the family house near Long Beach, California, on Monday. “We have no confirmation of her body being recovered, dead or alive,” he told reporters.

DETAILS: MEXICAN DISASTER! Singing Sensation Jenni Rivera Dies In Plane Crash!

“We thank God for the life that he has given my sister,” said Juan Rivera, also a singer. “For all the triumphs and successes she has had, and we expect that there will be more in the future.”

Rivera, who is believed to have perished in a plane crash on Sunday, was traveling from Monterrey, Mexico with six others when the Learjet LJ25 disappeared from the radar 10 minutes after take-off. Officials have not been able to collect material or human bodies from the wreckage, which is said to be unrecognizable.

The cause of Sunday’s crash has not been confirmed, yet the 43-year-old plane (ironically the same age as the singer), had a fuel system malfunction seven years ago, which caused one of the plane’s wings to weigh more than the other. It crashed while attempting to take-off from an Amarillo, Texas airstrip.

While the investigation is still pending, the family has taken to Twitter to speak to Rivera’s fans:

“My sister is still ALIVE! Until I have her body in my hands I will keep saying she LIVES. NOTHING has been CONFIRMED YET,” Juan Rivera posted in Spanish.

Like Juan, Rivera’ youngest son, Johnny Angel Lopez, 11, is making it his job to find where his mother is.

On Twitter, Lopez-Rivera wrote he now has his “hope back.”

“My Mama is alive,” he posted on Monday. “I may have posted a photo. I lost hope but I got it back. She is not dead.” The tweet was followed by the hashtag “#saveJenni.”

We’ll continue to keep hope alive with the family.
