Information about the two Oregon residents who were fatally wounded by shooter Jacob Tyler Roberts has been released by their families, who are saddened by the events that took place on Tuesday at Clackamas Town Center.

DETAILS: 411 On Alleged Oregon Mall Shooter, Jacob Tyler Roberts

Described by the people who knew her as “everybody’s friend,” Cindy Ann Yuille was a hospice nurse with two children, a 23-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old stepson. She had worked for the hospice care team at Kaiser Permanente for 16 years:

“Cindy was a beloved caregiver for the kind and compassionate support she provided for patients and families at times of impending loss and need,” Kaiser Permanente said. “Our hearts are with Cindy’s husband and family as they absorb this tragedy and grieve.”

Her loved ones told The Oregonian that Yuille, a California native, enjoyed hiking and cross-country skiing.

Her husband, Robert Yuille, also told the publication that his wife was “not a mall person” but had happened to be at the mall to pick up a few things that fateful Tuesday evening.

“(Cindy) was a wonderful person who was very caring and put others first,” the Yuille family said of the 54-year-old nurse who lived in northeast Portland.

Steven Forsyth, 45, of West Linn Oregon was a role model and “hero” that was always “full of energy.”

He owned a marketing business and operated a company that produced customized wooden coasters and trivets. That night at Clackamas Town Center, he was selling those same coasters at a kiosk.

Forsyth was “passionate” about “everyone,” his friend and business partner Clayton Oswald said. “He put you ahead of himself — he took the time, and he still got everything done.”

He was racing to a kiosk to sell coasters, turning a family hobby into a family-owned business, Oswald said. “The senseless act of someone taking Steve’s life while he was doing nothing more than being happy and excited to do something is incomprehensible to me.”

Forsythe’s family also spoke about their beloved father:

“He had a great sense of humor and a zest for life,” Forsyth’s family said. “He had a vision and belief in others that brought great joy and value to many lives. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”

DETAILS: WE PRAY! Shooting In Oregon Mall Leaves 3 Dead!

The 15-year-old young woman, Kristina Shevchenko, who remains at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital due to bullet fragment damage in her lungs and liver, is in stable condition. Trauma surgeon Laszlo Kiraly told reporters that she might need more surgery.

Her family is optimistic about her recovery:

The Shevchenkos thanked emergency responders and community supporters.

“We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the families of the other shooting victims,” the family said in a statement. “Our prayers are with them at this terrible time.”

We’re definitely keeping the Forsythe, Yuille, and Shevchenko families in our prayers, as well as the many others affected by Roberts’ senseless acts.
