It’s Monday again and we hope that the weekend gave you all of the rest you needed to hit the ground running on the start of your week. Unfortunately most of us need a bit of a boost to get over the Monday blues, so we have come up with a couple of cool things that you could do and you won’t even have to worry about paying a dime for any of it. In today’s Rome edition, of Dollars & Sense, we will explore a couple of great things that you can do that are both fun and easy on your pocket!

Visit The Vatican

If you are interested in the origins of the Catholic religion, There are more than 900 other churches in Rome, many of which are free to explore but St.Peter’s Basillia may be a good starting point for you.  Visitors are welcome to wander the ground floor of the cavernous St Peter’s Basilica, while entrance to the Vatican Museum – which houses works by Titian, Poussin and several paintings by Caravaggio, as well as the Sistine Chapel – is free on the last Sunday of each month but Sky Tours Rome offers free 30-minute tours of St Peter’s Basilica at 9am every morning, except Sundays.

Visit One Of The Parks In Rome

Once you are vanished exploring the Vatican, have a walk around Gianicolo park. Gianicolo Par is just south of the Vatican, boasts wonderful views of Rome and plays host to a free puppet show each day. It’s a perfect place to visit if you have children. Across town, the elegant gardens at the Villa Borghese are perfect for a romantic stroll.

Drink More Water

Not only does drinking plenty of water have great health benefits, water drinking has financial benefits, too. Drink a big glass of water before each meal, and not only will you digest it better, you won’t eat as much.  In addition you will save money on buying expensive juices and sodas. You’ll also find yourself feeling healthier as you begin to get adequately hydrated.
