Just when we think we’ve seen it all, a golden eagle comes along and shows us we ain’t seen nothing yet!

According to YouTube user MrNuclearCat, the video above shows a eagle swooping down and snatching up a baby like a piece of prey in Montreal, Canada.

The footage is so jaw dropping, some commenters on the vid are rather skeptical that this really went down. One YouTube user says:

“I’ve been working with digital images professionally for 15 years, and I’m convinced this is fake. The swoop down at 0:10 looks just like cheap CGI to me.”

Huffington Post reports:

According to National Geographic, golden eagles are the largest bird of prey in North America and protected by law. Many birds are threatened by habitat loss, though the golden eagle currently appears to have a stable population.

Golden eagles have a wingspan of up to 7.5 feet, and dive at their prey at speeds of over 150 miles per hour. Usually though, they choose to grab rabbits, marmots and squirrels… not children.

After several seconds of carrying this poor tot into the air, the eagle lets go of his grip and drops the baby, who you can hear crying, to the ground.

Major ouch!

We’re not sure if this is true or not, but it sure will make a good story when this little guy gets to elementary school.

Check out the video above and decide for yourself… real or not?!
