When someone wears something outlandish for the first time, one of the first things people wonder is – who told you that it was OK to wear something like that?

In a new video by VOYR, you get the answer to that question in regards to Kanye West’s pleated leather kilt that made a reappearance during the 12.12.12. Benefit concert.

The original content comes from a behind the scenes look at the Watch The Throne tour, when Kanye was going over his outfit choice with his Manager Don C, stylist, and Style Advisor Virgil Abloh. The pleated kilt, that was created by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, is actually the third version of the skirt but had the best range-of-motion for Kanye during performances.

Don. C was the most vocal about his feelings regarding the pleated kilt versus a flat kilt that was worn at a previous show, but Kanye seemed to respect the opinion of everyone that weighed in. Take a look at the video above for better explanation of what Kanye and his crew really felt about ‘Ye’s leather kilt.
