Fashion legend Vittorio Missoni, a top executive in Italy’s Missoni fashion house, has been reported missing today after he took off on a plane that disappeared off the coast of Venezuela.

The plane, which also carried his wife, two friends, and two crew members, was scheduled to carry Missoni and his team from Los Roques to Caracas.

Venezuela’s Interior Minister Nestor Revero said the plane had been expected at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas but never arrived.

Huffington News reports:

Italy’s Corriere della Sera newspaper reported that family patriarch Ottavio Missoni, 91, and his wife, Rosita, were at their home in Italy, along with their daughter, Angela, the chief fashion designer and sister of Vittorio Missoni, waiting for information about the search. Italian news reports said the third Missoni sibling, Luca, had flown to Venezuela.

No one has any information as to whether the plane has crashed, or if Missoni and his entourage are still alive.

We pray for the Missoni family and hope that they are all found soon.
