Harlem is back in major way when it comes to hip-hop. A$AP is making noise in the mainstream, A-Mafia is repping the real Harlem streets and Juelz Santana is back in the studio set to make a comeback. This new record “Soft” is a great start. It’s one of those club riot starters that features clever wordplay over a bass-heavy track with A-list spitters (the usual formula right?). Soft features Rick Ross, Meek Mill and a surprise 16-bar flamethrower from BK’s own Fabolous. There has been a lot of talk about a DipSet reunion. In order for people to really care, the collectively need to do what Juelz is attempting to do with this new single Soft. Stay Tuned.

Brooklyn we in the building! It’s been yelled in parties for years all through out NYC and all over the world. So the homie Joell Ortiz decided to coin the phrase in a hook for a song that promises to be one of his most mainstream records to date. The hook is so cold, literally, as Ortiz blurts “Brrrroooklyn… we In the building.” This will be itched into your skull after one listen. Ortiz verses have been platinum in the hood for years and this song is no different. But the combination of dope wordplay and a crazy hook should make this song a favorite whether you’re on the corner of Amboy and Dumont or your a hipster getting off the L Train on Bedford.

Twelve days into the New Year and new music is keeping cold ass January hot as hell. Peep this new Pusha T track “Millions,” which featuresRick Ross. Between Pusha taking snipes at Lil Wayne and putting new music in the streets constantly, he has been doing everything he can to keep the buzz up on his upcoming mixtape, Wraith of Caine, and his forthcoming album.

I can’t front, I slept on this new Avant “Best Friend” record for about a week. I saw it in my inbox and asked myself, “what does Avant have that could possibly stack up to what’s current?” Then finally I listened. “Best Friend” is an incredible record for those true R&B music lovers. Avant sounds as magical is his classic remake of ‘My First Love.” But this “Best Friend” record has great meaning especially with Valentine’s Day on the horizon. Hopefully this taste can wet your appetite for his new album, Face The Music, which drops February 5.

“Hit me with some pimpin, mayne…” When you hear the phrase that means my favorite rapper south of the Mason Dixon line, Juicy J, is in the building. The Taylor Gang affiliate crushed the strip clubs and clubs in general last year with his anthem “Bandz A Make Her Dance.”This new track “In the Stars” is a quick one-verse, one-hook manifesto that’s probably just a leak for now. Whatever it is, it’s the reason why we love Juicy and love to hear him on a track. Stay Tuned. 2013 is going to be a big year for The Taylor Gang…Until We Read Again.
