We’ve all wondered, “whatever happened to the other girls that were in Destiny’s Child?”

NEW MUSIC: Destiny’s Child “Nuclear”

With Destiny’s Child’s recent release of their new single “Nuclear,” GlobalGrind decided to dig a little deeper and find out what happened to the three other girls with seemingly unfortunate destinies.

You all remember, LeToya, LaTavia, and Farrah, the fallen members of Destiny’s Child.

Girl groups disband and break up everyday, but no other girl group in our generation has become more notorious for hiring and firing new members than Destiny’s Child.

When the group’s original members, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, found themselves jobless in 2000, they didn’t have many resources.

While LeToya moved on to have a pretty successful solo career, LaTavia battled with alcoholism.

Also, we can’t forget about the green-eyed beauty, Farrah Franklin, who only spent a sad five months dancing alongside Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle.

Despite their varying roads to redemption, all of the women have since found peace with their darkest days.

Find out what happened to LeToya, LaTavia, and Farrah below!

LaTavia Roberson Then

Years As A Member Of DC: 10 years

LaTavia was also a part of the group when it was called Girl’s Tyme, which was formed in 1990.

Departure From The Group: After rising tensions in the group with manager Mathew Knowles, LaTavia and LeToya wrote a letter to Mathew asking for new management.

Enraged and upset over their request, Mathew Knowles replaced the girls immediately.

Shortly after their letter was sent, LaTavia and LeToya never laid eyes on Beyonce and Kelly until they premiered the group’s “Say My Name” video with two new members Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin.

LaTavia and LeToya were officially kicked out of the group.

LaTavia Roberson Now

Since being replaced in 2000, LaTavia has had quite a journey.

LaTavia and LeToya filed a lawsuit against Destiny’s Child and Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles, citing they were unjustly removed from the group. The two former members eventually dropped the suit against the remaining members of DC, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland, but kept their suit against former manager Mathew Knowles.

The girls eventually reached a settlement and moved on with their lives.

In 2001, LaTavia and LeToya formed a new girl group, Anjel, which also included two other members. The women recorded an album as Anjel, but the album would never be released. LaTavia and LeToya amicably parted ways and decided to try their luck as solo artists.

After Kandi Burruss parted ways from ’90s girl group, Xscape, LaTavia was asked to join the acclaimed girl group, but turned down the opportunity due to family issues.

Life as a former Destiny’s Child member seemed to have its ups and downs for LaTavia. Overcome with grief, LaTavia began drinking heavily, and she eventually found herself in hot water when she was arrested for DWI in 2006.

In 2010, LaTavia made an appearance on Bravo’s hit reality show The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, where she visited her lawyer and cast member of the show.

In 2012, LaTavia and LeToya’s replacement member, Michelle Williams, tweeted a picture of her hanging out with the former members of DC.

LeToya Luckett Then

Years As A Member Of DC: 7 years.

LeToya was also a part of the group when it was called Girl’s Tyme, which was formed in 1990. LeToya joined Girl’s Tyme in 1993.

Departure From The Group:

After rising tensions in the group with manager Mathew Knowles, LaTavia and LeToya wrote a letter to Matthew asking for new management.

LeToya Luckett Now

LeToya teamed up with LaTavia shortly after being fired from Destiny’s Child. The two unsuccessfully tried to form another girl group, Anjel, with two other members. The girls eventually decided to quit their girl group ambitions and go solo.

While LaTavia failed to find her sound, LeToya, on the other hand, flourished.

In 2004, LeToya auditioned as a solo artist for Capitol records, and scored a deal immediately.

In July 2006, LeToya’s self-titled debut album went number one the charts, and according to the RIAA, LeToya’s album went platinum.

In 2009, LeToya released her sophomore album, Lady Love, which went number one on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop charts and debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200.

LeToya is currently working on her third solo album, which is set to be released later on this year.

LeToya is also the owner of a clothing boutique called Lady Elle, which ironically carries Beyonce’s clothing line House Of Dereon.

Farrah Franklin Then:

Years As A Member Of DC: 5 Months

Departure From The Group: Farrah Franklin made her world debut in Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” video in February 2000.

In July 2000, Farrah Franklin was fired from the group, learning of her job loss on MTV. Shortly after her firing, Beyonce revealed Farrah had missed multiple appearance dates, which was the reason for her dismissal.

Farrah’s stint with Destiny’s Child only lasted a short 5 months.

Farrah Franklin Now:

After being fired from Destiny’s Child in 2000, Farrah eventually linked up with rapper Fabolous and signed to his label, but was eventually dropped from the label shortly after.

Farrah also starred in a few low budget movies, and did some modeling gigs on the side.

In 2007, Farrah was romantically linked with rapper Lil Wayne. Nothing came of their relationship and the two parted ways.

In 2009, Farrah appeared on Bravo’s smash dating reality show, Millionaire Matchmaker, as a millionairess.

Two years later in early 2011, Farrah was arrested for “disorderly conduct” and “disturbing the peace” in Culver City, California. Farrah later came out stating she was filing a lawsuit against the Culver City PD, citing she was racially profiled.

Farrah released a statement:

“Unfortunately, I am the latest victim on what seems to be a growing list of those who are racially profiled and mistreated by Culver City Police. I was manhandled by the arresting officers. There were no female officers on duty and I was required to take off my top and treated unfairly.”
