Without fail, Nike has released a collection of shoes made specifically for All-Star weekend.

Last year, the “Galaxy” collection caused some major fanfare with people literally getting trampled and SWAT teams being called during the release of the Foamposite from the collection. This year, the collection continues the outer-space theme with the “Area-72” collection from Nike Sportswear and the ‘Extraterrestrial’ Houston All-Star Pack from Nike Basketball.

The mission control center in Texas, widely known by its radio call sign “Houston,” provides the creative inspiration for a special collection of shoes for Nike Basketball’s fearless leaders LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. What began as a simple idea by members of the Nike Basketball design team has manifested itself into a creative celebration and fictional interpretation of the Kobe 8 System, KD V and LeBron X for the game’s top players during basketball’s prized weekend.

Continuing the extraterrestrial design inspiration established in the Nike Basketball collection for Houston, Nike Sportswear presents a top-secret collection of five shoes celebrating the best of basketball. Merging old-school models with new-age innovation, the premium collection includes the Nike Blazer Mid, Nike Vandal, Nike Lunar Force 1, Nike Barkley Posite Max and Nike Air Force Max 2013.
