Beyonce’s lip-synching fiasco is turning into the scandal of the year.
Yesterday, CNN talked to an anonymous inaugural official who confirmed that Beyonce did in fact lip-synch her performance of the National Anthem during President Barack Obama’s Inauguration on Monday.
According to the inaugural official, what the millions watching heard was a recording of the singer, not her actual voice.
The source said: “She did not sing live.”
The official said that it was a decision that Bey made herself “because she didn’t have time to rehearse with the Marine Band, she decided to use her recording with the Marine Band.”
The source also confirmed it was “all Beyoncé.”
We haven’t heard anything official from Bey yet, but, according to CelebrityGossip, a source close to Bey said the singer did lip-synch and she didn’t think it was an issue.
“She didn’t think there was anything wrong with it,” the source explains…”Pavarotti has done it! It was freezing out, and if she messed up just one note, that would have been the story.”
This whole lip-synching thing has been a weird saga with various twists and turns. On Tuesday, a source with the Marine band said that she lip-synched her performance. Then, hours later, a Marine spokesperson came out and said they could not confirm this.
Now with the latest deets and gossip, we’re not sure what to believe.
