Friday is here! As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we have got some great things for you to do today once you finish grinding away at work. The best part is that none of it will cost anything at all. As long as you happen to be in Spain, this Madrid edition of Dollars & Sense is just for you. Check it out below!
Visit The Debod Temple
More than 2,000 years old, this Egyptian temple was given to Spain in thanks after Spanish archaeologists helped save Abu Simbel from flooding when the Aswan Dam was built. It stands on the western edge of the city center and is a romantic spot to watch the sun go down. Head over there before dusk and grab a good space to watch it happen.
Visit The Reina Sofía Museum
The rehang of the permanent collections at the Reina Sofía modern art museum was completed in late 2010, with new displays on the fourth floor. Picasso’s masterpiece Guernica attracts the biggest crowds, but don’t miss the excellent works by Dalí, Miró and Tàpies. If you are a fan of art, this one is for you especially because entrance is free after 7pm.
Financial Tip Of The Day
Disconnect Land Line If Possible
Unless you have small kids in the house or older people to take care of, it is more than likely that you will be able to survive with only the mobile phones and can get rid of the land line. Your internet probably comes via cable since nobody uses dial up anymore so odds are you can save a little money every month by axing the land line.
