The Daily Grind Video

Six months ago, Alesia Thomas dropped her children off at police station with a note to call their grandmother, which resulted in her arrest. That same arrest resulted in her mysterious death. And now the family and their attorney, Benjamin Crump, are requesting the dashcam video that shows her death.

According to reports, Thomas was handcuffed and restrained and then kicked in the groin. Later, she mysteriously died. The police officers said she was resisting arrest and the arresting officers are under investigation.

Because part of the evidence is the video from the officer’s dashcam, Thomas’ mother Sandra Thomas and attorney Crump pleaded before the commission to give it to them so they could see Thomas’ last moments.

Crump said it’s something any parent would want to see. “Thomas told me after the hearing she wants to see it even though she thinks it will be a nightmare.”

“The LAPD won’t comment except to tell me the police have rights too under the ‘Police Bill of Rights.’ And, authorities have a year to conclude their confidential personnel investigation before they have to make anything available.”

According to Fox LA, the City’s Inspector-General said that he has seen the video and has turned it over to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

During the meeting, Chief Beck listened as Thomas, Crump and others spoke and demanded the video. Afterward he said he would speak to the family privately about “timelines” for possible release of the video. Basically, that’s the year-long investigation period and process.
