Castmember Christina Applegate, who played Veronica Corningstone in the original, tweeted:
“So excited Kristen Wiig has joined our cast for Anchorman 2,” adding, “Going 2 b best movie ever made. Besides the best movies ever made.”

In case you’re wondering, the Bridesmaid mastermind will reportedly play the love interest of Brick Tamland, the nerdy weatherman played by funny man Steve Carell. What a pair!
The sequel is set to star the 2004 cult film’s original cast, which consists of Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Will Ferrell. Production is expected to begin in the near future and the film hits theatres in October!
This is one sequel we can’t wait to see.
