DETAILS: Oh No! Twitter Gets Hacked, Giving Access To Data From 250,000 Accounts!
Sources have confirmed that a criminal investigation is underway after a hacker apparently accessed private photos and emails sent between members of the Bush family, including both former presidents.
According to The Smoking Gun:
The “audacious” hack yielded sensitive family emails, information on just how close to death Bush 41 was in December, odd pictures with Ralph Lauren and some self-portraits of George W. Bush in the bath and the shower, sent to his sister.
The emails detailed that George W. Bush and family were so certain that George Bush would die from his illness, that they were thinking about the eulogy:
The hacked e-mails reveal that Bush’s health was so perilous in late-December that the former president’s chief of staff wrote his children to inform them that “your dad’s funeral team is having an emergency meeting at 10 a.m. just to go through all the details.” The Bush aide, Jean Becker, noted that this information “fell under the broadening category of things NOT TO TELL YOUR MOTHER.”
But most confusing were the paintings sent from George W. to his sister.
The Smoking Gun says the hacker went by the online moniker “Guccifer,” a word plastered across the leaked photos.
Bush spokesman Jim McGrath told the Chronicle the matter is “under criminal investigation.” McGrath did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment by The Associated Press early Friday.
Yeah. We’re confused too.
