According to WGNTV:

Two men were pulled over near 67th and South Chicago, early Sunday.

Law enforcement sources tell the Tribune they are gang members, one of whom has a previous weapons conviction.

The men are said to be 18-years-old and 20-years-old.

The Sun-Times reports witnesses were brought into the station yesterday to try and identify the men in a lineup.

According to CNN, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel called Hadiya’s family on Sunday after her funeral service to tell them about the developing investigation.

No one has been arrested or charged, however, but police are certain that the teenager was shot in a case of mistaken identity.

Police sources say that the teenager had no gang affiliation and likely was not the intended target.

On Saturday, friends and family gathered at Greater Harvest Baptist Church to say goodbye to the 15-year-old high school student. Her mother, Cleo Cowley, spoke to the congregation about her daughter’s death, apologizing to those mothers who had to go through the death of a child.

We continue to pray for Hadiya’s family and hope that justice is finally served.
