Bet the passengers aboard this ship didn’t expect this when they went on vacation.

Passengers on the Carnival Triumph ship that has been stranded off the coast of Mexico since Sunday morning are enduring some pretty foul and disgusting conditions now that things aren’t in working condition.

The ship, which has been stranded mid-journey since a fire broke out in the engine room, has no hot water, almost no food, and sweltering indoor temperatures. Few of the toilets work and it has been reported by passengers that raw sewage has began to run down the walls.

The earliest passengers can be rescued is Thursday, when a tow boat is expected to reach the doomed ocean liner.

“Conditions are getting worse by the hour,” passenger Debra Rightmire texted to ABC News. “Cabin carpets are wet with urine and water. Toilets are overflowing inside cabins. We are having to sleep in the hallways.”

Another source was able to talk to his wife, who is on the ship.

Brent Nutt, whose wife, Bethany, is on board, spoke to CNN Sunday night about conditions on the Triumph, which is relying on backup power generators.

“She was crying … and she just wants off of the ship,” Nutt said. “I mean, it’s horrible. There’s no running water. There’s no power. They are having to use the restroom in buckets and bags.”

“It’s like a bunch of savages on there,” he added. “If you get on the blogs, they’re saying that people are fighting over food and stuff.”

The U.S. Coast Guard is monitoring the situation until passengers can be rescued and other Carnival ships are delivering food to the stricken Triumph.

The company says it will refund passengers for the cost of the cruise, as well as a future “credit equal to the amount paid” for the ill-fated voyage.

Yeah…not sure anyone on that ship is going to want to use a credit for a trip in the future. Just take the L, Carnival!
