Lil Wayne is on one.

Last night, the Young Money rapper lashed out at the Miami Heat for getting him banned from all NBA events. In case you missed it, Wayne said, “I’m not Tupac, I’m the New Pac.”

Then he tore a page out of Pac’s book, and said:

“If you’re wondering why you didn’t see me at the All Star Game. It’s because I was banned from attending all NBA events. The Miami Heat got me banned. F*** NBA! F*** NBA! F*** Lebron! F*** SheWade! F*** Chris Bosh! And I f***ed Chris Bosh wife!”

Whoa! That’s a complete violation, but we already knew Lil Wayne has no filter. If Wayne wants to be mad, let him be mad, but it’s time for people to stop throwing Tupac’s name around so loosely.

When Pac was alive, he would go at anybody who he even thought was trying to diss him. Nas felt the flames and he didn’t even mention Pac:

“A little nigga named Nas think he live like me, talking about he left the hospital took 5 like me.”

Pac would roast rappers for perpetrating a fraud, and now all these rappers, singers, and randoms think they’re Tupac now. I wasn’t a Pac fan, but I do know the man was raw.

I do know that the legacy he left behind has made him immortal, but yet these rappers tarnish his name. They are not real like Pac, because Pac disclosed everything and was the exact definition of not giving a fuck.

He was smart enough to know never to disrespect the name of heroes like Emmett Till, and brave enough to take on leaders like C. Delores Tucker, who challenged the artistic vision of hip-hop by saying it glorified violence, drugs and abuse.

For every “I Get Around,” Pac made a “Keep Your Head Up.”

But for every “Bitches Love Me,” Wayne has made a “Prostitute Flange.” I don’t judge him, those are two of my favorite songs.

I also don’t have a problem with rappers are asking themselves, “What would Pac do?” But, I do have problem with rappers doing what Pac did and then calling themselves The New Pac.

It’s time to let Tupac Amaru Shakur rest in peace. He’s not alive on the coast of the Cayman Islands. He shouldn’t be brought back from the dead as a hologram at Coachella; his name shouldn’t be brought up every time an entertainer is angry he’s going through a difficult situation.

Calling yourself Tupac is not cool anymore, it’s wack! It’s disrespectful and it’s uncalled for. Because there is nothing wrong with being Lil Wayne. There is nothing wrong with being Chris Brown. There is nothing wrong with being yourself.

If Wayne can accept that, then I’ll be his biggest cheerleader to get him invited back to the NBA games, because the Miami Heat were wrong for banning the man. Regardless if he never root, root, roots for the home team again.
