The First Lady recently opened up to Rachel Ray in a Skype interview set to air Wednesday, Feb. 20th, about being denied the typical outlets of relieving the anxiety of a mid-life crisis, i.e. buying a sports car or bungee jumping, because of her high-profile position. Instead, she took a more tame, realistic route and finally took the leap. She decided to get bangs! “This is my mid-life crisis,” she jokes. “The bangs.”
Her new face-framing hairdo made its debut last month on her 49th birthday via Twitter.
The mother of two and style icon explains to US Magazine that she loves using Twitter because it allows her to have a conversation with a mass audience.
“You know, I get sort of regular feedback. I get people who tease, who ask questions, good questions. It’s always good to connect and it’s a good way to send important and encouraging messages. The bangs entered through my Twitter account!”

Even President Obama couldn’t resist getting in on his wife’s viral “bangs” conversation. During a pre-inaugeral speech on Sunday, Jan. 20th, he said, “To address the most significant event of this weekend, I love her bangs. She looks good. She always looks good.”
