Yesterday, Essence Magazine made good on a 6-year tradition, when they arranged the 6th Annual Women in Hollywood Luncheon.

The women of Hollywood came together to push aside the stress surrounding the most acclaimed award ceremony in the industry – the Oscars – and celebrate their accomplishments, highlighting one person in particular: Ms. Oprah Winfrey.

Women ranging from La La Anthony and Kelly Rowland, to the entire cast of Girlfriends, and other faces from some of the most iconic Black TV shows and movies, like Viola Davis of The Help, were on the scene.
The best of the night was when Oprah took the stage to give thanks to the crowd and stated: “There’s nothing better than being honored by your own.”
