It’s another weekend.  You made it this far and we want to help you make it worthwhile.  In today’s installment of Dollars & Sense we have got some great things for you to do if you happen to be in Sydney, Australia.  Check it out below.

BridgeClimb Sydney

At practically any hour of the day, you can look at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and see what looks like a procession of ants moving slowly along its vertiginous upper arch (known locally as “the Coathanger”). These are intrepid folks making the famous BridgeClimb, a 3.5-hour guided trek that brings them 440 feet up above the harbor waters. The tours leave four times daily (the dawn and sunset climbs are most popular) and aren’t for everyone; participants should be physically fit enough to do extended “uphill” walking along catwalks and ladders, and—obviously—should be without fear of heights. The good news, though, is that the climb is perfectly safe: everyone is fastened via a safety cable to the bridge struts, so falling is impossible. You won’t be allowed to carry a camera, but your leader will snap your photo at the bridge’s apex.

Visit The Sydney Opera House

Don’t let the name fool you—there’s a lot more than just opera going on under the swooping, cantilevered roofs of Australia’s most famous architectural landmark. The Opera House actually contains six different performance spaces, including the 350-seat Studio and the grand 2,679-seat Concert Hall, which host entertainment ranging from ballet to Aboriginal dance, from experimental theater to Shakespeare, and from Sonny Rollins and Anoushka Shankar concerts to (yes) performances of Don Giovanni. Take the hour-long behind-the-scenes tour, which traces the history of Danish architect Jørn Utzon’s masterpiece.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Write A List Before You Go Shopping And Stick To It
One should never go into a store without a strong idea of what one will be buying while in there. Make a careful plan of what you’ll buy before you go, then stick strictly to that list when you go to the store. Don’t put anything in the cart that’s not on the list, no matter how tempting, and you’ll come out of the store saving a bundle.
