Horsemeat is sweeping the nation!

DETAILS: Where’s The Beef! Horsemean Scandal Reveals U.S Illegally Exports Meat Tainted With Drugs

The furniture franchise Ikea is the next member of the horsemeat scandal. Authorities said frozen meatballs labeled as beef and pork were actually horsemeat. The horse meatballs were reportedly made in Sweden and shipped to the Czech Republic for sale in Ikea stores. A total of 1,675 pounds of the meatballs did not make it to Ikea shelves.

Spokeswoman for Ikea, Ylva Magnusson, said Ikea will not sell the bad batch of meatballs at any of the affected locations which include Slovakia, Hungary, France, Britain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, and Ireland.

CBS News reports on Facebook, Ikea ensured their customers that they will not serve any meatballs at its stores in Sweden out of concern for “potential worries among our customers.”

Although the bad batch has raised customer concerns, Ikea does not feel the need to extend their meatball precautions and recalls to Ikea locations who have not come in contact with the horse meatballs. Their decision is reportedly supported by scientific testing that cleared the other frozen products.
