This week, celebrities from around the country have been coming through to Austin to attend SXSW, but hip hop has seemed to dominate the festivities.

Last night, the fun seemed to come to a pause once the news of Lil’ Wayne’s hospitalization freaked out friends, family, and fans.

Usher made a surprise appearance during The Afghan Whigs’ set at the Fader Fort, but he stopped the set in order to send his prayers to Lil Wayne.

He told the crowd:

“One of my fellow artists and good friend, Lil Wayne, is going through a real hard time right now, ya’ll,” said Ursh. “I just want to send a lot of positive attitude about his state and a lot of positive energy out there right now. Can you guys make some noise for Lil Wayne one time?”

To make light of the tough situation where there was no updates at the time, he then went on to perform hits such as “OMG” and “Bad Girl”.

So far this week, there have been performances and interviews with artists such as Schoolboy Q and Kendrick Lamar at the festival and last night Future made his mark.

The “Turn On The Lights” singer hit up the Fader Fort tent to put on a nearly 25-minute performance for a packed crowd.

Singing and rapping hits such as “Same Damn Time” and “Karate Chop”, Future got the crowd off of their feet and the whole place turnt up.
