DETAILS: Dropping The Ball! Assault Weapons Ban Gets The Boot On Senate Bill

Yoko Ono shares thoughts of a heavy heart after her 44th wedding anniversary to the late, great John Lennon passed. 2013 marks the 33rd year since Lennon was shot and killed on December 8, 1980.

Ono sent an eye-opening, inspiring statement about gun violence via Twitter with a picture of Lennon’s bloodied glasses attached to it. The tweet has since been retweeted almost 15,000 times which includes President Barack Obama.

Prior to the above tweet, Ono posted: “31,537 people are killed by guns in the U.S.A every year. We are turning this beautiful country into a war zone.”

Lennon’s murderer, Mark David Chapman, is currently serving his 20 year to life sentence. At his last parole hearing, Chapman admitted a police officer served as his ammunition supplier.

“An old friends who was a police officer …. I told him I needed the bullets. I didn’t tell him what I was going to do. I chose hollow point bullets because they were more deadly.”

Unfortunately, the senseless acts of gun violence have not ceased and the fight for better gun control continues.

It’s saddening that Yoko Ono and her son have to endure life without husband and father John Lennon. Our prayers are with them.
