Florida take note! The New Hampshire House of Representatives voted to approve legislation that would repeal the state’s Stand Your Ground law. Stand Your Ground laws are designed to allow a person to shoot a potential attacker if they believe they are in danger and cannot flee. [HuffPost]

Former Detroit mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, has been denied a request to be released on bond while he awaits his sentencing. A judge cited Kilpatrick’s criminal record and history of problems adhering to parole conditions as reason, but his lawyer said he is not a flight risk or a danger to the public. [HuffPost]

You Go Girl! Malala Yousafzia, the 15-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban, just received a $3 million book deal to write about her life and experiences being an activist. “I am Malala” will be published in the fall. [Guardian]

Oscar Pistorius is on the move again after a judge lifted a bail condition that restricted his travel. The South African Olympian who was charged with murdering his girlfriend was given back his passport and is allowed to travel overseas. [CNN]
