Violence against women has been at the forefront of national discussion for some time now, and with Miami rapper Rick Ross’ allusion to date rape on Atlanta rapper Rocko’s club hit “U.O.E.N.O,” rape in hip-hop has been the topic of every news organization’s conversation.

Despite the fact that Rick Ross’ “U.O.E.N.O.” lyric is extremely disgusting and down right wrong on so many levels, Ricky isn’t the first artist nor will he be the last to rap about raping a woman.

It makes us wonder, why we (music consumers) have turned a blind eye to the dozens of rappers and rockers who depict brutal acts of violence against women in their music.

Since the big blow up, Rick Ross has offered up not one, but two half-assed apologies for the “misinterpretation” of his date rape lyric.

Unfortunately, for Rick Ross we don’t think he completely understands why his lyric stirred up so much controversy, but we digress.

There are countless rap lyrics about rape, so GlobalGrind decided to do a little digging outside of the hip-hop world to find disturbing rock lyrics about rape.

From The Mentors “rape rock” song “Secretary Hump” to Patrick Wolf’s creepy song “The Childcatcher,” we managed to find various rock songs about rape.

Surprisingly, rockers have sang about every form of rape including date rape, pedophilia, women raping men, and the raping of slaves.

We even included Nirvana’s disturbing anti-rape song “Rape Me.”

Check out the 11 disturbing lyrics below!

Sublime “Date Rape”

“Come on babe it’s your lucky day/ Shut your mouth, were gonna do it my way/ Come on baby don’t be afraid/ if it wasn’t for date rape I’d never get laid.”

The Mentors “Secretary Hump”

“Oh gettin’ my urge up/ She looks so sexy/ Long fingernails, short little skirt/ Can’t hold back any longer/ Can’t stop myself/ Ha, ha, ha, ha, rape, rape, rape, rape, rape, take charge.”

Dean Martin & Doris Day “Baby It’s Cold Outside”

  • “Doris: but maybe just a half a drink more
  • Dean: put some records on while I pour
  • Doris: the neighbors might faint
  • Dean: baby it’s bad out there
  • Doris: say what’s in this drink?
  • Dean: no cabs to be had out there”

Rolling Stones “Brown Sugar” (subliminally about the raping of slaves)

“Old coast slave ship bound for cotton fields/ Sold in a market down in New Orleans/ Scarred old slaver knows he’s doing alright/ Hear him with the women just around midnight.”

George Michael “Father Figure”

“I will be your father figure/ Put your tiny hand in mine/I will be your preacher teacher (Be your daddy)/Anything you have in mind/I will be your father figure/I have had enough of crime/I will be the one who loves you – Until the end of time/ That’s all I wanted/ But sometimes love can be mistaken/For a crime.”

Sarah McLachlan “Possession” (song is about a stalker who threatened to rape Sarah)

“And I would be the one/To hold you down/ Kiss you so hard/I’ll take your breath away/ And after I’d wipe away the tears/Just close your eyes dear.”

Patrick Wolf  “The Childcatcher”

“Well I’ve got no time for victims and I don’t think it was all that bad/and if you can’t run to save yourself well then you deserve to be had/this is the age of constipation, this is the age of martyrdom/I think you even enjoyed it, I think I even saw you cum”

Juliana Hatfield “A Dame With A Rod”

“Give me your hand/Get in the van/ Do you understand? Act like a man/ got a room for one night, So don’t try to fight.”

Devo “Triumph Of The Will”

“I’m not a wanker or a banker/ I’m not afraid to take a risk/ It is the thing females ask for/When they convey the opposite.”

Bad Company “Can’t Get Enough”

“Well, I take whatever I want/And baby, I want you.”

Nirvana “Rape Me” (essentially an anti-rape song, but still chilling)

“Rape me, go ahead, rape me, beat me/ You’ll never kill me/I’ll survive this, and I’m gonna fucking rape you one of these days and you won’t even know it.'”
