The fertilizer plant explosion that occurred in Texas earlier this week has left the nation shocked and saddened by the tragic lives that were lost.

According to MSNBC, the death toll of the horrible incident has risen to 14 people after two additional bodies were found.

Although Senator John Cornyn revealed that he believed 60 people to be missing still, investigators say that the number was overblown and information is “confusing”.

Apparently 200 people were injured, and three rescue fire trucks were destroyed in the aftermath, with five firefighters among those who lost their lives.

In order to help the city, President Obama has issued a state of emergency and has pledged disaster relief aid in order to help the recovery efforts.

Obama’s order Friday night authorizes the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate disaster relief efforts in the town of West. Wednesday’s explosion at the West Fertilizer plant killed at least 14 people, injured more than 200 others and demolished buildings for blocks around.

After addressing the arrest of the second Boston Marathon bombing suspect Friday night, the president extended his sympathies to the community of West and everyone else affected by the explosion.

We pray for the victims and their families of the explosion and hope those injured get proper treatment!
