If you are a student at Parsons, The New School For Design this semester, one professor in particular may give you a lot more to talk about.

STORY: RUMOR ALERT! John Galliano Could Be Your New Professor At Parsons In NYC!

As the old saying goes, “those who can, do and those who can’t, teach.” And it applies perfectly to the current situation of John Galliano. The former Creative Director at Christian Dior, who came under fire for a drunken, anti-Semitic tirade in a restaurant, was all but shunned by the fashion community. With the exception of consulting for Oscar De La Renta for a brief period of time, nobody wanted to be associated with the foul-mouthed fashion designer – until now.

John Galliano will teach a short-run course in fashion design theory at Parsons. He will head-up a master class series called “Show Me Emotion” that will run for four days this month and only be made available for students with a 3.0 GPA or better.

A spokesperson from Parsons explained the decision to use Galliano by saying:

“An invaluable part of a Parsons education is the opportunity to learn from the world’s leading designers, from Donna Karan and Diane Von Furstenberg to Olivier Theyskens. The planned master class with John Galliano will be a dynamic and intimate opportunity for our students to learn from an immensely talented designer. We believe that over the past two years Galliano has demonstrated a serious intent to make amends for his past actions, and as part of this workshop, Parsons students will have the opportunity to engage in a frank conversation with Mr. Galliano about the challenges and complications of leading a design house in the 21st century.”

Stay tuned…we’ll be monitoring how Mr. Galliano does in the classroom.
