What’s black and white and freaking stylish all over? We’ll give you a hint: It starts with Miley and ends with Cyrus.

We’ve been watching Miley make an epic transformation from a Disney girl to one of our favorite style stars seemingly overnight, and we’re more than pleased with her ability to play with looks, try new trends and of course, find what works for her.

From chopping the hair, to going platinum blonde, we were sure Miley was going in a more punk-rock direction…until we realized that she’s really been morphing into a Hip-Pop poster girl for our favorite trend of the moment: Monochrome.

A look at Miley’s ELLE UK cover was all we needed to be reminded of just how good our girl Miley is at playing up spring’s biggest runway trend of black and white. It may sound simple to play off, but it can be mastered with a little finesse.

Check out the images below for tips on how to get Miley’s amazing monochrome looks on a budget.

Miley played this look up in a $1,690 Maison Martin Margiela Leather T-shirt, denim cutoff shorts and a pair of $850 mirrored Prada platforms, but you can get the look for a lot less. Splurge on the All Saints leather tank ($285) and play up the look with H&M cutoff shorts and mirrored platforms from Steve Madden that will only run you $79 on sale here.

You know what else we love about Miley’s style? The fact that she is always ready to go an entire day without changing. This look could seamlessly go from day to nightclub with a change of accessories. For our version of Miley’s fit, we wanted to play it up a little by mixing prints.

When mixing, it is easiest to play with black and white prints paired with one another, like these polka dots and stripes, and a leather jacket for balance. Splurge on the $398 MK purse to use and re-use, along with the $100 TopShop leather. The Rivers’ Island skirt will only run you $31, while the top will cost a whopping $11.
