Today marked the 100th day in President Barack Obama’s second term and in acknowledgment, he addressed the nation in a press conference where he vowed to get things done!

It seemed as if no topic was left unturned during the Q&A, as the President answered questions regarding the Boston Marathon bombing investigation, Syria’s alleged use of chemical warfare, the sequester, and even Jason Collins coming out announcement.

He even revealed that he would renew efforts again to close the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay.

“I continue to believe that we’ve got to close Guantanamo,” Obama said, but “Congress determined that they would not let us close it.”

“The idea that we would still detain forever a group of individuals that have not been tried, that is contrary to who we are, that is contrary to our interests and it has to stop,” Obama said.

When asked about the sequester and budget cuts, the President revealed that Republicans in Congress were for the sequester, before they were against it.

“You suggest that my job is to somehow get [Congress] to behave,” Obama said. “That’s their job.”

He continued, touching on the successes of Obamacare and the danger of self-radicalization of possible terrorists on U.S. soil.

But he ended the presser on a high note, applauding NBA star Jason Collins for his bravery in announcing that he is, in fact, a gay professional sports player.

“For I think a lot of young people out there who are gay or lesbian, who are struggling, to see a role model like that who’s unafraid, I think it’s a great thing,” Obama said.

“I told him I couldn’t be prouder. You know, one of the extraordinary measures of progress that we’ve seen in this country has been the recognition that the LGBT community deserves full equality, not just partial equality, not just tolerance, but a recognition that they’re fully a part of the American family,” he said.

We love it! You better work during your second term! Check out what else he had to say in the video.
