Even though “Girl on Fire” is the song everyone remembers from Alicia Keys’ last album, the first song to be released was actually the Swizz Beatz-produced “New Day.”
There was no official video, but there was some confusion over whom the song belonged to, with 50 Cent releasing his own version of the track weeks after Alicia dropped hers.
However, nearly a year later, Alicia Keys finally decided to release the video for her original version of “New Day.”
Throughout it all, Alicia is a New York gal, so it’s not surprising to see that the video is NY-based. We see the singer dancing in a New York alley, with mixed shots of the city popping up throughout.
