As a native New Yawker, there may be a little bias behind the next few words you are about to read: New York City is home to the most stylish people in the world. There are 5 boroughs full of amazing people who share a common bond of living in the best city in the world, if you let the postcards and the natives tell it, that is.

From the new wave of Brooklyn inhabitants labeled “hipsters” who thrive on going against the grain, to the classic New York style epitomized by Carrie Bradshaw (aka all those brands you can’t afford while paying NYC rent), and the reformed guidos of Staten Island alike, New York City’s beautiful culture clash of fashion is uniquely unmatchable.

In the spirit of celebrating New York’s awesomeness for no particular reason, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite celebs that put on for their city in their own fashionable ways.

Brooklyn: Solange

Solange’s Carrol Gardens Brooklyn apartment is a far trip from her Texas hometown, but the Texan turned Brooklynite must have taken some tips from big brother Jigga on how to prefect a little Brooklyn steeze. From her natural hair to her love for mixing eccentric prints, high braided buns and hoop earrings when the occasion calls, our girl Solange is just so Brooklyn.

Manhattan: Sarah Jessica Parker

Do we really have to explain this one? Sarah Jessica Parker not only spent a large chunk of her acting career being the television style star for girls from Madison Avenue to Seattle and back, but on her own days – whether she is walking her adorable twins to school or donning a custom mohawk on the red carpet at the biggest fashion event of the year – SJP is working it. She’s mastered the art of layering and dressing for life on the go in New York City and for that, she owns the crown as Manhattan’s most awesome.

Staten Island: Vinny from Jersey Shore

You may turn your nose up at this one, but the truth is, Vinny has grown a whole lot since his days as the butt of the joke on Jersey Shore. On the day-to-day, his style isn’t far from what you would typically see in the Staten Island Mall (jeans, graphic t-shirts and whatever sneaker is hot at the moment) but when he hits the red carpet, Vinny knows how to polish things up in well-tailored suits. We admire him for steering clear of the Ed Hardy allure that is all too easy to fall into while living in Staten Island (trust me, I know from experience).

The Bronx: Jennifer Lopez

It’s been a while since Jenny from the block actually hopped that 6 Train back to the block, but that doesn’t mean mama’s style isn’t still straight NY. One thing we know J.Lo picked up from her hometown was her knowledge about how to bring sexy to the nighttime scene, because seriously, have you ever been to a nightclub in The Bronx?

Queens: Tika Sumpter

Former model turned actress Tika Sumpter is not only easy on the eyes, but she’s a New York City girl through and though. From the carefully put together fits that she rocks front row at New York City Fashion Week, to the classy, yet super sexy red carpet dress selections, we love that Tika always puts on for her city, literally.
