The rumors have proven to be true, J. Cole will be moving up his album release date on June 18. The North Carolina emcee credits Kanye West as the reason why he decided to move up his release date. 

J.Cole tweeted: 

“Kanye West is one of the greatest artists of our generation, which is exactly why I’m moving up my release date. Born Sinner June 18.” 

Kanye West is set to release his new album Yeezus on June 18.

J. Cole unveils the cover artwork to his sophomore album Born Sinner

As the follow-up to his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story, Born Sinner boasts the smash hit “Power Trip” featuring Miguel as it’s lead single. 

As an early offering to his sophomore album, J. Cole released Truly Yours 2 EP.

Born Sinner is scheduled to drop June 25, but there have been reports that the Roc Nation rapper may push up its release date to June 18. 

The earlier release date has yet to be confirmed, so for now, J. Cole will be competing alongside Wale’s The Gifted album on June 25.
