OK, so by now you know the story.

A video that none of us have seen, except for a writer at Gawker and a couple reporters at the Toronto Star, allegedly shows Toronto Mayor Rob Ford smoking crack with a group of Somali men.

The owner of the original video wants six figures to release it, which Gawker has committed to raising. (If you want to support, click here).

But now, the controversial mayor is coming forward to tell his city that he doesn’t smoke crack, and that the allegations are ridiculous.

In the statement, Ford said:

“I do not use crack cocaine, nor am I an addict of crack cocaine.”

He added, “I can’t comment on a video that I have never seen or does not exist.”

But as Gawker pointed out, the mayor did not say that he never smoked crack…only that he does not currently.

Makes us go hmmm, but check out the video and see for yourself if he’s sincere and telling the truth.
