We get it. You’re the baddest bitch (insert Trina’s voice here) on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Vine, and all the other social networks that Mark Zuckerberg has yet to dream up. So when you post your selfies on social sites, you look damn good and want to make sure that you have the perfect cliche rap lyric to compliment it.

There is just one problem, we’re sick of reading about how you “started from the bottom” and have “no new friends.” So consider this a PSA: Every day, people across the nation roll their eyes in utter disgust when they scroll down their newsfeed and see the same rap lyrics used, recycled and abused. It must come to an end, but not without first identifying the culprits.

If you find yourself on the verge of updating the tempting box asking you “what’s on your mind?” stop, and think before typing: “is this a cliche Drake lyric?”Did I indeed start from the bottom,” and “am I really about this life?”

We’ve all been guilty of being so excited by the cadence of a rapper’s flow that the overwhelming urge to share it with our followers takes over, but sometimes too much is more than enough.

Here are 34 rap lyrics that have seen their social media days, and need to be retired from your Instagram captions, Tweets, and Facebook statuses alike. We’re not saying they’re bad songs, we’re just saying they’re bad tweets.
Consider yourself warned.

“That’s that shit I don’t like.” – Chief Keef,  “Don’t Like”

By now you may have noted that the king of rap quotables, Drake, is missing from the lineup, but with good reason; his lines go down in the “used and abused” rap lyrics hall of fame. The man is a hit maker, and he consistently delights fans with lyrics they just can’t wait to tweet! We may or may not definitely be guilty of it, but past tweets aside, here are some Drake quotes that need to be retired from social media.

“Y.O.L.O”

“Started from the bottom, now we here.” Taking an Instagram photo from the roof of the projects does not classify as the “whole team being there.”

“Sweat pants, hair tied, chillin’ with no make-up on. That’s when you’re the prettiest, I hope that you don’t take it wrong”

“No New Friends.”

“You wasn’t with me shooting in the gym”

Of course not, you’re a Con Ed worker and I am a writer, why do we have to play basketball?
“As long as my bitches love me.” / “I got that good kush and alcohol.”

“Hairs done, nails done, everything did.” (Usually a lie.)

“I’m about being single, seeing double, making triple I hope you pussy niggas hating never make a nickel.”

“I know way too many people here that I didn’t know last year, who the fuck are y’all.”

“Your natural hair and your soft skin, and your big ass in that sundress (ooh!)”

“Man they treat me like a legend. Am I really this cold? I’m really too young to be feeling this old”

“Keep a few bad bitches in my circle”

Enough is enough!
