A toxicology screening reveals that an overdose of a mixture of drugs is what killed Chris Kelly of the rap duo Kris Kross early last May.

Even though the examiner, Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical office of Atlanta, could not be completely sure about exactly which drugs killed Kelly, his mother claims that the night before he passed away, he was doing both cocaine and heroin.

On May 1, Kelly, aka “Mac Daddy,” was found unconscious on a couch in his Atlanta home’s living room. When paramedics tried to resuscitate him, it was no use. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Kris Kross gained fame in 1992 when their popular single “Jump” reached the top of many music charts in the United States and around the world. Even though they also had more singles after that, none ever reached the level that “Jump” did.

The last public appearance Kelly made was at the anniversary of So So Def, where he and the other half of Kris Kross, Chris Smith, aka “Daddy Mac,” performed.

At a memorial ceremony for the talented rapper, his uncle Lemar Williams claimed that at a very young age, Kelly had a love for music. He was even planning a comeback.

He was only 34 years old.

RIP Mac Daddy.
