Twerking has been around for a while but when Miley Cyrus added it to her repertoire of skills it grabbed even more attention and has apparently even become worthy of a mention by Jay-Z.

The mogul/rapper shines a light on the singer and her new booty poppin skills via a new song off his latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail on the track, “SomewhereinAmerica,” rapping:

“When I was talking Instagram / Last thing you wanted was your picture snapped / Feds still lurking / They see I’m still putting work in / Cause somewhere in America / Miley Cyrus is still twerkin’, HA! / Twerk, twerk, twerk, twerk / Twerk, Miley, Miley, twerk / Twerk, Twerk, Miley, Miley, Miley, twerk / Twerk, yeah, ugh-huh / Twerk, Miley, Miley, Miley / Only in America.”

Some believe the shout out is actually Beyonce‘s hubby mocking the 20-year-old while others think it’s just his attempt of connecting to pop culture. Either way Miley seems to be just fine with it. She responded to the rap lines on her Twitter, posting:

And shortly after she posted:

Back in 2009 when the now blondie released her song “Party in the U.S.A” which first claimed that a “Jay-Z song” was what led to Cyrus’ need to dance, the singer actually admitted she had never actually heard one of the rapper’s songs ever.

Mmm…  We’re sure that’s not the case now.

There’s no doubt Hov is a pretty witty guy, that often ties multiple thought provoking meanings into his verses so is he serving the twerker props our a backhanded compliment? What do you guys think? Check out the track below and give us your verdict in the comment section!
