“This is all so crazy, everybody seems so famous. My tummy’s turnin’ and I’m feelin’ kinda homesick. Too much pressure and I’m nervous. That’s when the taxi man turned on the radio and a Jay-Z song was on..”

Can you imagine singing this instead of the National Anthem?

Well that’s what (so far) 561 of Miley Cyrus‘s fans hope will happen.

There’s currently a petition stating that “Party in the USA” should replace the National Anthem because, “It is what is best for this country.”

Ya don’t say?

Well, this isn’t the first time that there’s been a petition for a change in our Nation Anthem. Some people have seriously come up with the most creative, outrageous ideas…Check ’em out!

1. Just a couple of months ago, a petition was created for R. Kelly‘s song, “Ignition.”

So instead of partying it up, we would be trying to get a girl.

2. There’s a petition to use Whitney Houston’s Super Bowl version of the National Anthem, instead of the boring, non-pop star version. According to the Whitney fans, “This petition is to honor her legacy and show the world why her voice is the standard above all.”

3. There are a group of people who have created their own version of the National Anthem and wants people to “fight for what’s right!”

4.America the Beautiful-Mitt Romney Edition” Guess the Republicans REALLY wish he was in office right now!

5. One Direction has touched so many little girls’ hearts. Who knew it was such an impact that people would want their song to be the National Anthem!? 1D’s song “Stole My Heart” apparently would be a good song for the USA:

  • Under the lights tonight
  • You turned around, and you stole my heart
  • With just one look, when I saw your face
  • I fell in love
  • It took a minute girl to steal my heart tonight (eh eh eh eh)
  • With just one look, yeah (eh eh eh eh)
  • Been waiting for a girl like you

6. Another idea is to change the National Anthem to “America the Beautiful.” A good song, but not the Star Spangled Banner.

7. Some petitioners seem to think that “Gangnam Style” would be a great National Anthem. They say:

“what better song to choose as our nation’s new groove than Gangnam?”

8. “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey is another choice for the new National Anthem, apparently a petition of 7 supporters thought so.

9. “This land was made for you and me!” is what this petitioner wishes they could sing instead of the Star Spangled Banner. It…

says much more about what this country means to its citizens, does not glorify war, is sung in the Key of G (the people’s key, as it’s sometimes jokingly called) with words that can be remembered by children and adults alike. “

10. This isn’t really to change the entire song, but to change some of the words. Instead of having, “the land of free,” it should be “land of the imprisoned.” Do you agree with this HAPPY person?!

11. This petition to change the song is in so much dire need that they created a Facebook page! Check out, “The Banana Song.”

So, do you think we will be singing Miley Cyrus’s song while twerking? Just in case, for those of you who don’t know the possible future anthem, check it out below!
